EU Delegation To Trinidad And Tobago Welcomes New Ambassador Cecile Tassin

The EU Delegation to Trinidad and Tobago is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Cecile Tassin as the new European Union Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago. Ambassador Tassin officially presented her credentials to President Christine Carla Kangaloo, ORTT, today, following a courtesy call to the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs.

Ambassador Tassin succeeds Peter Cavendish, who retired at the end of August.  She brings with her three decades of extensive experience within the European Union. Throughout her career, she has held various positions of increasing responsibility at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels, as well as in EU Delegations around the globe, including significant assignments in Africa and the Caribbean.

Before her new role in Trinidad and Tobago, Ambassador Tassin was the Advisor of the Africa Director in the Directorate-General for International Partnerships of the European Commission in Brussels. Her seasoned expertise in international relations and diplomatic practices will undoubtedly strengthen the EU’s commitment to fostering cooperation and dialogue with Trinidad and Tobago.

Originally from France, Ambassador Tassin holds Master’s Degrees in Comparative Public Law from the Sorbonne University, Paris, France, and European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe, Bruges, Belgium.

The EU Delegation, under Ambassador Tassin’s leadership, looks forward to advancing mutual interests and enhancing collaborative efforts between the European Union and Trinidad and Tobago.
