Minister of Finance Davendranath Tancoo has confirmed that public servants, public officers and workers in the State sector are being paid late in October due to the ongoing realignment of Government Ministries and departments.
“Although 25 Ministries were aligned in May and October 2025, the Ministries experiencing severe challenges in processing their October payroll are the Ministry of Land and Legal Affairs, the Office of the Attorney General, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training, and the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs.”
Minister Tancoo noted that this is a normal practice with realignment pursuits and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
He assured that the matter is being addressed with high priority.
“Until employees under realignment are transferred to their newly-assigned Ministries, salaries will be paid and funds assigned via a hybrid process of the IHRIS system and manual payments. As of today, most of the issues have been resolved and officers have been paid. The Ministry of Finance, through the Office of the Comptroller of Accounts, is working assiduously with the relevant affected Line Ministries, Agencies, and banks to finalise the necessary adjustments and to ensure that the remaining affected officers are paid by Monday, November 3rd, 2025.”
