Five suspects were arrested for varying offences during anti-crime exercises conducted in the Northern and Eastern Divisions this week.
Task Force officers conducted a house search operation in Area North of the Northern Division between 4am and 8am on Thursday 28th November, 2024, during which one male suspect of Piarco Old Road, was arrested for possession of a quantity of cannabis.
Two female suspects, who were in his company, were also held during the exercise.
The same party of officers, acting on information received, then proceeded to the D’Abadie district, where they recovered a silver Nissan Almera motor vehicle which was reportedly stolen in the Couva Police district. One male suspect was held in connection with the matter.
And, in the Eastern Division, a 48 year old man of Rio Claro was held for sexual offences against a minor.
The arrest stems from an investigation into a report of a missing female teenager on November 25th, 2025. The missing girl was subsequently found.
Officers of the Child Protection Unit, Sangre Grande are continuing investigations into the matter.
