Five additional special schools will receive fully equipped innovation labs by the end of the year courtesy of the Digicel Foundation.
The schools are Lady Hochoy Cocorite, Eshe’s Learning Centre, Cascade School for the Deaf, Servol Sunshine Hill, and St Dominic’s Trade School.
Each learning institute will get new computers, virtual reality equipment, smartboards, assistive tech accessories, and specialised furniture to support more inclusive and hands-on learning for students with disabilities.
Digicel Foundation’s Project Manager, Diana Mathura-Hobson, says the five schools join a movement of educators who are committed to digital inclusion.
She notes that the goal of the labs programme is to ensure students with special needs have equal access to all the opportunities that technology provides.
