Five Suspects Held In Exercises In Northern And North Central Divisions

Five suspects were arrested in ongoing anti-crime exercises in connection with Robbery with Violence, Possession of Ammunition and Gang-related offences.

Reports indicate that two male victims were walking along Spring Road, Five Rivers, Arouca, around 11am on Tuesday 14th October, 2025, when they were approached by three men who announced a robbery.

During the incident, the suspects allegedly beat the victims about their bodies before relieving them of a quantity of valuables and then running off.

A report of the incident was made to police and officers of the Arouca Criminal Investigations Department subsequently arrested one 21-year-old suspect of Arouca, in connection with the matter.

Meanwhile, Task Force officers of North Central Division, Areas East and West, conducted an Operation Steadfast exercise, between 11am and 3pm, on Tuesday 14th October, 2025, during which they conducted searches in the St. Joseph district.

During the exercise, four suspects, all of St. Joseph were arrested for various offences including Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Ecstasy, Housebreaking and Larceny, Gang-Related activities and Outstanding Warrants.

A quantity of cannabis, weighing 1.06 kilogrammes, was also seized from an abandoned vehicle in the district.

The operation was initiated by ACP Singh, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Gift, Supt. Jaggernath and coordinated by W/ASP Gonzales-Lewis and Insp. (Ag.) Peters. It included officers of the NCD Gang and Intelligence Unit, the Inter-Agency Task Force and Canine Unit.
