The mandatory Fixed Penalty Warning takes effect from today, March 2nd, 2026.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, under the new system, drivers who commit any of 18 specified traffic violations will receive a warning instead of an immediate fixed penalty ticket.
Motorists will have three or seven business days, depending on the offence, to correct the issue and present the vehicle for inspection.
Failure to comply within the allotted time frame will result in the warning being converted into a fixed penalty notice.
