Footballer Jayden Moore Killed In Botched Robbery Attempt

Nineteen year old professional footballer Jayden Moore, who last played with Trinidad and Tobago Premier Football League team Caledonia AIA, was shot and killed during a botched robbery attempt on the Eastern Main Road in D’Abadie on Friday morning.

A statement by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service said at around 1:40am on September 20th, Moore and a woman were sitting in a gold Nissan Tiida hatchback on the Eastern Main Road when a man came to the driver’s side of the Tiida, pointed a gun at Moore, and announced a robbery. Moore then drove off, with the man shooting multiple times behind the car which resulted in Moore being shot once in his chest and four times in his back. The 19 year old then crashed after losing consciousness.

Police said around 2am, they received the information and went to the scene and saw the Tiida with the driver’s door open. They found the woman trying to help Moore who was in the driver’s seat.

The police took Moore out of the car and saw multiple gunshot wounds to his body. They then took Moore to the Arima Health Facility, where he died around 2:10am.
