The North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA) has announced the arrival of four babies born on New Year’s Day at the Maternity Department of the Port of Spain General Hospital (POSGH).
The first arrival was a baby girl born to Kamine Naitram at 2:32am.
The second New Year’s baby at the Port of Spain General Hospital was also a girl, born at 6:37am to mother I’da Manswell.
Following the two girls were two baby boys.
At 8:25am, Shekil Alfred gave birth to her son, and at 9:46am, Vernell Wilson-Awango welcomed her baby boy.
Members of the NWRHA’s management team including Chief Executive Officer Major Anthony Blake; Chief Operations Officer Kefim Lewis; Director of Health, Dr. Keisha Gangaram; and General Manager of Human Resources, Dr. Carissa Francois, presented tokens of appreciation to the mothers following the arrival of their bundles of joy.
The NWRHA sincerely thanked the mothers for entrusting their care, and that of their newborns, to the Authority’s professional and compassionate staff.
Special appreciation was also extended to senior midwives and Registered Nurses Natasha Hazell-Sagan, Leonora Harry-McGarnon, and Kelva Alexis for their commitment to ensuring exceptional care, comfort, and support for both mothers and babies.
