GetawayTT Aims To Revolutionise Tobago Tourism

Travel to Tobago is being made easier. This is the vision of Kyle Eastman and his team, who created and recently launched the website ‘GetawayTT’ at the Crown Hotel in Tobago.

Mr. Eastman said the platform is not just another booking site, but one that will benefit guests and Tobago’s business owners.

“I was thinking about how hard it still is to plan your trip to Trinidad and Tobago. Right here at home, we decided, ‘How about we build a platform, or why isn’t there a platform built for us, by us?’ One that works with the local people and celebrates the local hosts, and one that sounds like our voice, not just another booking engine, and so guess what? We decided we are going to build one.”

Tourism stakeholders have the opportunity to market their offerings on this platform, including stays, tours, car rentals, and events. Mr. Eastman said information regarding Tobago’s October Carnival is also provided in this space.

“We built GetawayTT to build that bridge, a bridge between the people and places. A bridge between opportunity and ownership. A bridge between the world and Trinidad and Tobago. And tonight, that bridge goes live. It is more than just tech. It is more than just listings. It’s more than just bookings. It’s the freedom to explore our country like never before.”

Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association Marketing Vice Chair and owner of La Vida by Kadoa, Christian Ward, expressed support for the venture.

“I know how enthusiastic he is to ensure that the tourism sector of Tobago continues to grow, and what greater way to bring such a beautiful platform than GetAway TT? Now, when he came to me with the idea, I jumped at it, lent my support, and I got on there. He showed us how to use it, very easy. We had the training session just a couple of days ago, and I look forward to receiving all the bookings.”

The GetawayTT platform was launched with support from local brand Votini Vodka.
