The Government has held high-level discussions with the Bankers Association of Trinidad and Tobago (BATT) to review current market conditions, assess the state of the economy, and strengthen ongoing collaboration between the State, the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (CBTT), and the banking sector.

The meeting, which was convened by Minister of Finance Davendranath Tancoo, included the Minister of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development Dr. Kennedy Swaratsingh, alongside Central Bank Governor Larry Howai, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance Suzette Taylor-Lee Chee, technical officials from the Ministry of Finance, executives of the Bankers Association of Trinidad and Tobago (BATT), and senior representatives from the banking sector.

All parties described the engagement as constructive, underscoring the importance of continued dialogue, practical collaboration, market stability, and public confidence.

Minister Tancoo said, “This meeting represents the start of a deeper and more practical working relationship with both the CBTT and the banking sector dedicated to national interest.
