Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh has tested Positive for COVID-19.
A statement from the Ministry of Health said the Minister tested Positive this morning, and he is now in isolation in accordance with the National COVID-19 Protocols.
It said the Minister is exhibiting mild flu-like symptoms and will continue to perform his official duties from home while he recovers.
This is the first time since the start of the pandemic more than three years ago that the Health Minister has tested Positive for COVID-19.
In the Ministry of Health’s last COVID-19 status update on March 21st, the rolling 7-day average of new Positive cases was 64.
Trinidad and Tobago has seen over 190,000 Positive cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, with 186,000 of those cases declared recovered.
