Health Ministry Contributes To Relief Efforts Following Venezuela Earthquakes

Following the recent devastation in neighbouring Venezuela caused by two massive earthquakes, Minister of Health Dr Lackram Bodoe applauded the relief efforts undertaken by this country.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of CARPHA’s Emergency Operations Centre on Friday, Dr Bodoe assured that the Ministry of Health is also doing its part to provide relief to victims.

“At the Ministry of Health we have also arranged some donations of medical supplies, so at this point I would like to thank all of those who have supported this initiative. I know there were many NGOs involved. Some of the business organisations, I think like SEWA TT as well would’ve been involved, but many citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, so those efforts continue as we speak, and again, we would want to express our empathies and sympathies to those affected in Venezuela, and we hope for a speedy recovery from the damages it caused.”
