Health Ministry Launches New Digital Training Platform

The Ministry of Health has launched a new Learning Management System aimed at strengthening professional development and knowledge-sharing across Trinidad and Tobago’s public health sector.

The digital platform was unveiled at the Ministry’s Corporate Headquarters and was developed with support from the United States Government through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.

The system will serve as a centralised hub for training, providing healthcare workers within the Ministry of Health and the Regional Health Authorities with structured and accessible opportunities for professional development.

One of the first programmes available on the platform focuses on the District Health Information Software 2, a global health information system that allows real-time data capture at the point of care.

Officials say strengthening the use of the system will improve the collection and analysis of health data, particularly in monitoring and responding to HIV and AIDS.

Health Minister Dr Lackram Bodoe says the initiative represents an important step in strengthening the country’s public health infrastructure and improving disease surveillance and response.
