High-Speed Chase Ends At Police Station With Three Detained

Three people from El Socorro have been detained after police allegedly found 1,020 grammes of cannabis in an object thrown from their vehicle during a high-speed chase in Chaguanas.

The incident occurred during an intelligence-led operation by the Central Division Gang Unit as part of Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E.

Officers from the Central Division Gang Unit were conducting surveillance at a gas station when they observed a black Toyota Prado entering the compound. Police continued monitoring the vehicle after it left the area and observed an object being thrown from its rear window.

The object allegedly contained approximately 1,020 grammes of cannabis. Officers then attempted to intercept the vehicle, but police reported that the driver failed to stop and instead travelled at a high rate of speed before eventually entering the compound of the Chaguanas Police Station.

The three occupants were detained. The Toyota Prado was impounded and secured pending further investigations. Preliminary checks have also raised concerns about the vehicle’s chassis number, which police suspect may have been tampered with.

Investigations into this matter are continuing.
