The Annual Holy Thursday Mass was celebrated at the Technical/Vocational Building, Golden Grove Prison.
The service was led by Roman Catholic Archbishop Charles Jason Gordon, who also conducted ‘washing of the feet’ with selected inmates.
In his homily, Archbishop Gordon reflected on Jesus Christ’s call to humble service, noting that all are called to prepare for the Kingdom of God, not worldly gain.
The Holy Thursday Mass brought together inmates from the Golden Grove Prison, Extended Remand Facility, Women’s Prison, and Port of Spain Prison, alongside senior Roman Catholic clergy and members of the Prison Executive.
This observance forms part of the Prison Service’s ongoing commitment to faith-based initiatives, supporting transformation, rehabilitation, mental well-being, and a safer institutional environment.
