Home Ownership Made Equal – THA Launches New Housing Programme

Home Ownership Made Equal (HOME). This is a new social housing programme being rolled out by the Tobago House of Assembly.

Speaking at the site of the construction of the first house under this programme in Bon Accord on Sunday, THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine said the HOME initiative is focused on providing support to Tobago’s most vulnerable.

The Chief Secretary said construction of the two-bedroom home began on Wednesday and will belong to a visually impaired person. He added that the programme is heavily centered around volunteerism.

Mr. Augustine noted that recommendations for deserving recipients can be made through THA Area Representatives. He said the THA Executive hopes to construct 25 homes in the first phase of the HOME Programme.
