ICC Announces Record US$8.76 Million Prize Pool For Women’s T20 World Cup

The ICC has announced a record prize pot for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup in England, and the numbers are significant.

The total prize pool stands at US$8.76 million, a 10% jump from the 2024 edition.

The tournament expands from 10 to 12 teams, with 50% more group stage matches than the 2024 edition.

The winners will walk away with US$2.34 million, the same as 2024, but with a higher participation fee now baked in, the minimum any team can earn has jumped from US$112,500 to US$247,500.

The teams that stand to gain the most are those reaching the knockouts, while a losing semi-finalist now takes home a minimum of US$922,500, compared to US$787,500 two years ago.

The tournament begins on June 12th at Edgbaston, as hosts England take on Sri Lanka, and the final is on July 5th at the Home of Cricket, Lord’s.
