In recognition of the International Day for the Conservation of Mangroves, Dr. Rahanna Juman, Deputy Director of Research at the Institute of Marine Affairs (IMA) and Wetlands Ecologist, highlighted the critical role mangroves play in coastal protection, biodiversity, and climate resilience. Dr. Juman emphasised the urgent need for public education, sustainable management, and stronger conservation efforts to safeguard Trinidad and Tobago’s mangrove ecosystems.
