Investigation Launched Into Angostura Fire

Angostura Limited is assuring that their Rum Production Area was not affected in a fire at their Laventille compound on Friday night.

In a media release sent out by Angostura on Saturday, the company indicated the fire caused damage to the botanical storage areas for bitters production.

Meanwhile, Public Relations Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service, Dexter Hodge, confirmed no one was injured in the fire. In a telephone interview with TTT News, Mr. Hodge indicated that the Wrightson Road Fire Station got a call about a fire at the Angostura premises on the Eastern Main Road in Laventille at around 6pm.

He said that several units from San Juan, Port of Spain, and Chaguanas responded and put the blaze under control.

Angostura says the company would resume business operations, including sales, as usual.

They also assured their customers and partners that their processes remain unaffected and reaffirmed their commitment to uninterrupted service.
