Investigations are continuing into the arrest of a female prison officer who was discovered with a quantity of contraband during a search exercise at the Golden Grove Women’s Prison on Monday, August 24th.
According to police, the woman, a Prison Officer 1, who was on vacation leave until March 2027, was searched by senior prison officials as she attempted to enter the prison facility at around 8:45am.
The search resulted in the discovery of 458 packets of cigarettes, 189 grammes of plant-like material, two headsets, eight AAA batteries and 12 effervescent tablets.
