Jereem Richards Claims Bronze In Diamond League Opener

Trinidad and Tobago sprinter Jereem Richards made a strong start to his 2026 Wanda Diamond League campaign in Stockholm, Sweden, on Sunday, winning bronze in the men’s 400 metres.

Richards clocked a season-best 44.87 seconds to finish third behind first-place Zakithi Nene of South Africa and runner-up Jacory Patterson of the United States.

The result marks an encouraging start for Richards, who clocked a national record of 43.72 seconds en route to silver at the 2025 World Athletics Championships.

The podium finish continues his strong Diamond League pedigree as he builds momentum towards major championships later this season.
