The Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, Phillip Watts, presented instruments of appointment to a five-member Trinidad Boxing Board of Control.
The newly appointed Board features T&T national boxing champion and former Olympian Kirt Sinnette as Chairman, Boxing Coordinator Kim Quashie as Deputy Chairman, and rounding off the Board are Sport Administrator Kwanieze John, Business Administrator Hemrajh Rampersad, and Attorney-at-law Bryan Basdeo.
The Board, which is appointed for a two-year term, will be charged with regulating and promoting the sport.
Minister Watts has charged the Board with the responsibility of upholding the proud history of boxing in T&T, while modernising the sport and creating opportunities for athletes and coaches. He pledged the Government’s commitment to the sport of boxing.
