Kiwis Consolidate T20 Series Win Versus WI Women

A highly-contested T20 series between New Zealand women and the West Indies women concluded today with another nail biting match in Antigua that went to the direction of the white ferns.

Batting first, the Windies only managed 101 for 8 from their 20 overs. Captain Hayley Mathews sustained the innings with 56. Every other batter only managed single figures. Suzie Bates took top spot in the bowling department taking 3 wickets for 10 runs.

In response, the visitors were kept in check from the arms of Sheneta Grimmond’s 1 for 19 and Afy Fletcher’s 1 for 12. Needing seven from the final over, the match went down to the final ball as New Zealand got over the line in exactly 20 overs, winning by five wickets.
