Head coach Derek King has confirmed that Kobi Henry has been named captain of Trinidad and Tobago for Saturday’s international friendly against South Korea.
The US-based defender’s appointment makes him the second-youngest player ever to captain Trinidad and Tobago in a senior international, following Ken Galt, who led the team at age 20 against British Guiana in 1937.
“I feel an immense pride to wear the captain’s armband for Trinidad and Tobago. I’m very excited to lead my country and to lead the guys on the field. I’m looking forward to step out there with confidence against a top opponent and be an example for the guys.”
