Laventille Man In Court For Murder

A Laventille man has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the murder of Andre Soleyn, which occurred on June 12th, 2025.

Dennison Nino Thomas, 41, of Point Plaisance Park, was charged with the offence when he appeared before Master Indira Chinebass, at the High Court North ‘B’, on Tuesday 2nd September, 2025.

The Sufficiency Hearing date has been set for December 11th, 2025.

Soleyn, 41, also of Point Plaisance Park, Laventille, allegedly got into an altercation with a man on June 12th, 2025. During the incident he sustained multiple stab wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he subsequently died.

A male suspect was arrested shortly after by officers of the Port of Spain Task Force, in connection with the matter.

Investigations were supervised by ASP (Ag.) Ramjag, Insp. (Ag.) Seecharan, Insp. (Ag.) Ramsumair an Insp. (Ag.) Stanislaus, all of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region One, together with Sgt. Biggart, attached to the Forensic Science Centre and other various agencies.

Thomas was charged by WPC Charles-Mc Kain, also of HBI Region One, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC on Friday 29th August, 2025.
