A scaled-down version of the opening of the 2025/2026 Law Term will be held on September 16th.
The Judiciary has announced changes to this year’s commemoration event, citing “uncertainties of the current situation in the country.”
Instead of the traditional ceremony, the observance will take the form of a court sitting only, to be held at the Hall of Justice on Knox Street, Port of Spain.
Chief Justice Ivor Archie is expected to deliver the featured address at the sitting.
The Judiciary says it looks forward to returning to the National Academy for the Performing Arts in 2026, when the full Commemoration event, including the Service of Divine Worship, court sitting, and parade, is scheduled to resume.
