Community sporting and cultural groups in Penal are set to benefit from upgraded infrastructure at the former Petrotrin grounds.
This is according to Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath, who was speaking to TTT News at the Siparia Women’s Association’s Kiddies Carnival at the Petrotrin Recreational Ground in Clarke Road on Wednesday.
Minister Padarath said the facility has been fully refurbished and equipped with new, towering lights, allowing the space to be used for a wider range of activities and for extended hours.
He noted that similar infrastructural improvements are being carried out nationwide by the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC).
T&TEC Chairman, Anil Kamal, said such a venture has been “long overdue.”
