Trinidad and Tobago National cyclist Makaira Wallace has praised the decision by the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) to award scholarships to six national athletes.
The scholarships will provide Olympic hopefuls such as Wallace with funding to assist with travel to qualification events, medical and sport science services, accommodation, and more.
“It’s definitely very helpful, especially in a sport like cycling with all the bikes and the equipment. The bill for travel is very steep. So it’s definitely very helpful in that aspect and just in terms of just living, it’s great to be chosen for that. Living, coaching, it’s for all of those purposes. So I’m really thankful to them for choosing me.”
