One male child is among 28 people to succumb to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
This is the highest ever recorded daily death toll for virus here in Trinidad and Tobago.
Among the fatalities are 13 elderly males, 8 elderly females, 5 middle-aged males, 1 middle aged female, and 1 male child.
The Ministry said 16 of those who succumbed to the virus had multiple comorbidities while four persons had a single comorbidity (hypertension or asthma), and the remaining eight had no known medical condition.
The Ministry of Health is also reporting an additional 592 new cases of the virus. Active cases now stand at 8,491. There are 510 people at hospital and are being treated for the virus while 67 have been discharged from public health facilities.
