Massy Holdings Reports 7% Revenue Growth As Profits Fall 35.6%

Massy Holdings is reporting a 7% increase in revenue for the first nine months of its 2026 financial year, even as profits declined by more than 35%.

On Tuesday, Massy Holdings said it recorded TT$12.65 billion in revenue for the first nine months of its 2026 financial year, an increase of 7%, or approximately TT$805 million, over the same period last year.

The Group said the growth came despite challenging global economic conditions, including higher shipping, freight and food costs.

However, the increase in revenue did not translate into higher profits.

Massy reported after-tax profit attributable to shareholders of TT$322.26 million for the nine months ended June 30th. This was 35.6% lower than the TT$500.47 million recorded during the corresponding period last year.

The result included TT$120.79 million in losses from discontinued operations, with most of the loss linked to the sale of Massy Distribution Jamaica.

The sale resulted in a TT$109.7 million non-cash accounting loss, largely reflecting the recognition of accumulated foreign-currency translation losses.

Profit from continuing operations stood at TT$491 million, down 7% from the previous year, while earnings per share from continuing operations fell 9% to $22.38.

The Group attributed some of the decline to strategic investments in people, technology and safety systems, as well as the impact of Hurricane Melissa on its Jamaican operations and the island’s tourism sector.

Despite the decline in profits, Massy generated TT$1.20 billion in cash from operations and maintained its third-quarter dividend at $3.54 per share.

Meanwhile, Massy also announced that it has invested BBD$46 million in the redevelopment of its Worthing Supermarket branch in Barbados, which officially reopened on Monday. The company is also expanding its reduced-price programme, increasing the number of everyday essential items offered at lower prices from 200 to 300, with the new prices expected to take effect from August 17th.
