Matthews Is WPL MVP

West Indies captain Hayley Matthews took three wickets in the Final of the inaugural Women’s Premier League on Sunday, brushing aside the Delhi Capitals by seven wickets at the Brabourne Stadium in India.

The world class all-rounder also celebrated Player-of-the-Series honours with her top notch batting and bowling figures.

She finished with 271 runs and 16 wickets – the most in the tournament. Matthews had impressive figures of four overs, taking 3 wickets for five runs in the Final to add to her outstanding record. Delhi Capitals were restricted to 131-9 from their 20 overs. Nat Sciver-Brunt struck an unbeaten 60 from 55 balls to guide her side over the line with three balls to spare.
