The Member of Parliament for Mayaro is hailing works conducted to repair the Begesse landslip in his constituency.
MP Wilfred Nicholas Morris says materials for the repair of the landslip were procured as early as November, following coordination with the Chairman of the Mayaro Rio Claro Regional Corporation.
He assured relief is coming within a week.
“Work to provide relief at the Begesse landslip will begin next week. The Corporation, under the leadership of Mr. Cozier and Mr. Law from Rio Claro South, they were able to put together the procurement of materials for temporary relief of this site until the Ministry of Local Government can undertake, as they plan to, a more sustainable and more holistic approach to it. So the update is that the Ministry of Local Government, after the Minister’s tour, has been actively engaged in this process.”
