No other Prime Minister has been committed, innovative and focused on ensuring the safety as well as security of all communities across Trinidad and Tobago as Prime Minister Hon. Kamla Persad Bissessar SC.
As the Member of Parliament for Mayaro I would like to thank the Honourable Prime Minister for the announcement that the constituency of Mayaro will be one of the recipients of the 30 joint army-police posts that will be established across Trinidad and Tobago over the next four months.
This announcement reflects the Prime Minister’s holistic, strategic as well as determined approach to eradicate criminality and return safety to all communities, giving equal attention to rural as well as urban areas.
The Prime Minister must be commended for her all-government ant-crime approach which has been based on a strong foundation of diplomatic strides to fight narco-trafficking, legislative measures to deliver stand your ground legislation, operational support for our protective services and now the announcement of this direct community safety mechanism.
The continued decrease in serious criminality as demonstrated in the figures, coupled with the consistent implementation of measures to deliver safer communities highlight the political will of the Prime Minister to deliver on the UNC’s commitment to safety and security.
Commendation and gratitude must be extended to the Minister of Homeland Security Hon. Roger Alexander as well as all the heads of our protective services for their efforts.
The constituents of Mayaro are grateful for the Prime Minister’s policy of equitable development for rural communities as this Police Post comes two months after Mayaro was presented with a new fire tender highlighting the resolute modus operandi of the Government to ensure efficient as well as effective public services for all.
