A 23-year-old man has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the murder of Scott Rambaran, whose body was found on July 10th, 2025, in the D’Abadie district.
Justin Baird, a mechanic, of St. Helena and Arouca, was also charged with Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, when he appeared before Master Lisa Singh-Phillip, on Monday 28th July, 2025.
The Sufficiency Hearing date has been set for January 30th, 2026.
Rambaran, 35, a labourer, of Piarco, was found dead on July 10th, 2025.
One male suspect was arrested by PC John of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Two, on Tuesday 22nd July, 2025, in the Arouca district.
Investigations were supervised by Supt. Douglas, ASP (Ag.) Victor, W/Insp. Sylvester, Sgt. Ramoutar, Sgt. Radhaykissoon and PC Subiah, all of HBI Region Two.
Baird, was charged by PC Benaldo, also of HBI Region Two, on Sunday 27th July, 2025, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on that same date.
