Memorial Park Set For Rehabilitation Works Under TT-50 Initiative

CEO of The Private Sector Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago, Rudolph Hanamji, and technical and Marketing Advisor for Tourism Trinidad Limited, Ryan D’Arcy, recently joined youngsters at the first pilot site of its TT-50 initiative, Memorial Park, in Port of Spain.

The initiative is geared towards rehabilitating 50 tourism sites across the country and will see the involvement of the Girl Guides and the Trinidad and Tobago Cadet Force , also helping to inform young people of their rich history.

Mr. D’Arcy explained the reason for the selecting the location to begin.

“This month we celebrate memorial day, and that’ll be at this very location so why not start this programme this very place, we sit adjacent to the beautifully refurbished national museum, to the epic NAPA, very close to the Magnificent seven, just south of the Queen’s Park Savannah so many amazing beautiful spots in our country.”

He gave a further breakdown of the sites to be tackled.

“10 Sites have come from our line Ministry’s visitor signage project that’s already underway in conjunction with tourism Trinidad, thirty additional sites have been earmarked in Trinidad via our tourism Trinidad’s destination development department, and finally ten sights in Tobago, via the tobago tourism agency limited, of course they would have had a great hand in helping us shortlist their sites.”
