Local Economic Development Units are being used by government as a hands-on approach to allowing regional corporations to serve the citizens.
Speaking at the launch of Tinsels and Tidings – Christmas Edition on Friday Minister of Rural Development and Local Government Khadijah Ameen said it focuses on communities, on community economies from the ground up.
She told the participants that the LED projects will go into regions from Rio Claro to Toco to Point Fortin tailoring for the local economy and traditions.
She said the aim is to empower people, small businesses and strengthen families making communities more resilient.
