The Honourable Barry Shiva Padarath, Minister of Public Utilities, officially installed the new Board of Directors of the Power Generation Company of Trinidad and Tobago (PowerGen), marking another significant step in the Government’s commitment to strengthening governance, enhancing accountability and securing a resilient and sustainable energy sector.
Accompanying the Honourable Minister were members of his Ministerial Team, the Honourable Clyde Elder Minister in the Ministry of Public Utilities and Ms Shivanna Sam, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Public Utilities.
The newly appointed Board comprises:
- Chair Ms. Jasodra Rampersad
- Deputy Chair Mr. Nathan Jeremie
- Members Mr. Omesh Ramberran and Mr. Hardeo Bahall
The installation of the new Board follows a period of strategic transition within the country’s electricity
generation sector.
Addressing the newly appointed Directors, Minister Padarath underscored the critical role of sound corporate governance in maintaining a reliable electricity supply and positioning PowerGen to meet the
evolving demands of the national energy landscape.
The Minister further reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to modernising the public utilities sector
through strategic leadership, innovation and responsible stewardship of national resources.
The Ministry of Public Utilities extends its sincere congratulations to the newly appointed Board of
Directors and looks forward to working closely with them as they guide the company through its next
phase of growth and transformation.
