Minister of Trade and Industry Paula Gopee-Scoon toured the manufacturing facilities of Electrical Industries Group Limited (EIG) in Macoya and and its cable plant facility in Arima on Friday. This, in an effort to deepen collaboration between the Ministry and EIG.
EIG is a producer of electrical cables, plastics for construction, power solutions and packaging materials.
Accompanying the Minister were EIG Founder and Chairman Dr. Dave Ramkissoon and other executives, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Randall Karim, and CEO of the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association Dr. Ramesh Ramdeen.
During the tour of the plastics plant facility located in Macoya, Minister Gopee-Scoon observed the operations of the industrial scale plastics division where PVC, pipes, fittings, and plastic for construction and industrial packaging are manufactured.
