Minister of Public Utilities Barry Padarath has revealed upcoming leadership changes at the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC).
On Monday, he indicated that T&TEC will have a new General Manager in the coming weeks.
“T&TEC will have very shortly a substantive General Manager in the person of none other than Mr. Ian Ramrattan, who will come into the company as of December 1st, 2025 as the substantive General Manager for T&TEC.”
The Public Utilities Minister made the announcement as he addressed a contingent of T&TEC workers heading to Jamaica.
The contingent will help to restore electricity to Jamaica in the wake of the destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa.
“Earlier, our High Commissioner designate, Deborah Thomas-Felix, who is on board this fight with our contingent from T&TEC, expressed to me that the reports coming out of Jamaica are, is that we may need to add some additional support through food support in the first instance to our High Commission there, Trinidad and Tobago nationals who are still in Jamaica, as well as to Jamaican citizens themselves.”
