Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, Phillip Watts, has commended Trinidad and Tobago’s Senior Women’s National Football Team after their dominant 5–0 victory over Barbados in the CONCACAF Women’s Qualifier in Bridgetown.
In a courtesy visit, Minister Watts praised key players and the technical staff, calling the result “a proud moment for the nation” and proof of the team’s growing potential.
With critical matches ahead against Honduras on March 4th and El Salvador on April 17th, he pledged the Government’s continued support for women’s football.
He urged the players to remain focused and disciplined, reminding them their journey is an inspiration to young athletes across T&T.
The Minister also highlighted the team’s global presence, with players currently based in France, Saudi Arabia, Canada, the United States, and England, showing the reach and rising impact of women’s football from Trinidad and Tobago.
