Minister Watts Represents T&T At Commonwealth Sport Ministers’ Meeting

Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Phillip Watts represented Trinidad and Tobago at the Commonwealth Sport Ministers’ Meeting in Scotland this week, pushing for stronger sport partnerships on the international stage.

Minister Watts joined Caribbean and Commonwealth counterparts in Glasgow on Thursday for talks on the role of sport in national development, social inclusion and international cooperation.

On the margins of the meeting, he held discussions with regional and global officials focused on advancing sport development in T&T. Key themes included strategic partnerships, best practices and stronger support systems for athletes and sporting institutions.

Minister Watts also attended a Ministers’ Welcome Reception hosted by Scotland’s First Minister, John Swinney, continuing dialogue on shared priorities for sport development.

The Ministry says it remains committed to partnerships that will help grow sport in Trinidad and Tobago.
