MOE Begins Processing Payments For School Supplies And Book Grant

The Ministry of Education is moving ahead with the 2025 School Supplies and Book Grant, aimed at supporting thousands of families ahead of the new academic year.

The Ministry announced on Tuesday that it is actively processing payments for the Book Grant, which will provide $1,000 each to 20,000 eligible students across government and government-assisted primary and secondary schools.

The $20 million investment seeks to prioritise families receiving public assistance, unemployed individuals, and those with disabilities.

Minister of Education, Dr. Michael Dowlath, emphasised that “education is a national priority,” and the Grant is designed to ease the financial burden on parents and guardians.

The statement from the Ministry said it is currently working with the Ministry of Finance to secure the necessary financial releases, and applicants will be contacted via email once approvals are finalised.

Citizens are encouraged to stay updated through the Ministry’s website and official social media pages.
