More Sites For Vehicle Testing Announced

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is reminding the public that starting January 5th, 2026, approved Vehicle Testing Stations including the Vehicle Management Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago will be permitted to conduct inspections for Public Service Vehicles.

This will be for vehicles with a Tare Weight not exceeding two thousand two hundred and seventy kilogrammes.

As defined in section 2 of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act, a Public Service Vehicle is a motor vehicle used for carrying passengers for hire.

Additionally, VMCOTT will be authorised to conduct inspections for goods vehicles exceeding three thousand kilogrammes Maximum Gross Weight.

A release from the ministry further notes that Public Service Vehicles with a tare weight exceeding two thousand two hundred and seventy kilogrammes will be required to conduct their inspections at Licensing Office.

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation reiterates that motor vehicle inspection is a legal requirement, and all vehicle owners are reminded to ensure compliance with the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act.
