A Moruga man has been granted $200,000 bail with surety after appearing before Master Gonsalves in the Princes Town Court charged with wounding with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm.
Jonah Thompson, also known as “Sugarhead,” was not required to enter a plea. As part of his bail conditions, he must report to a police station once each month. A sufficiency hearing has been set for April 12, 2027.
Police said the charge stems from an incident along Penal Rock Road, Moruga, on September 8, 2026, during which Thompson allegedly assaulted a man with a cutlass following an argument.
He was arrested the same day after investigations by officers of the St. Mary’s Police Station and Southern Division Task Force and was subsequently charged following legal advice.
