Government is making it easier for motorists to renew their driver’s licences early.
The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation says Cabinet has approved an amendment to the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Regulations, allowing licence-holders to renew up to three months before their licence expires.
Previously, renewals were only permitted one month prior to expiry.
The Ministry says the extended period will reduce last-minute rushes, improve customer convenience, and enhance service efficiency.
The change comes through Legal Notice Number 48 of 2026 and takes effect on March 16th, 2026.
The Ministry is thanking the public for its continued cooperation as efforts continue to improve service delivery across the transport sector.
