MV Cabo Star Returns To Service On Sea Bridge

The MV Cabo Star has resumed cargo operations on the sea bridge.

The vessel was removed from servicing the sea bridge on July 12th to undergo its scheduled, statutory dry-docking.

In a media release, the Trinidad and Tobago Inter-Island Transportation Company confirmed that the vessel has since completed its maintenance and upgrades and has regained its classification status.

It noted that the MV Cabo Star returned to Trinidad from Curaçao on Sunday.

With the vessel now returning to service, the T&T Inter-Island Transportation Company said the passenger ferries, namely the APT James, Buccoo Reef, T&T Spirit, and Galleons Passage, will not transport vehicles with a maximum gross weight above 3,600kgs.

It also stated that vehicles without accompanying drivers will not be allowed on the passenger ferries.

On July 11th, a day before the MV Cabo Star was taken out of service, the MV Emprendadora had arrived in Port of Spain to support the cargo operations between both islands during the dry-docking period.
