Workers of NAPET, a subsidiary of the National Petroleum Marketing Company Limited, are calling for the company to settle outstanding wage negotiations.
The workers, backed by the Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union, took their voices to the pavement, demonstrating outside of the Office of the Chief Personnel Officer on Alexandra Street.
The OWTU is claiming interference in the bargaining process.
The Union says since 2018, they have been in discussions with NP for the negotiation period covering 2013 to 2016. It says the most recent offer put on the table is a wage increase of 2% over a six-year period. They are reminding the CPO that the recognition Certificate is between NAPET and the Oilfield Workers Trade Union.
