For Trinbago Knight Riders all-rounder Sunil Narine, last season’s eliminator round exit against the Barbados Royals is behind him, as he looks ahead to the start of the 2025 Caribbean Premier League season.
Narine spoke about the upcoming season during TKR and the Unit Trust Corporation Foundation’s partnership announcement at UTC’s head office in Port of Spain.
“I wouldn’t say break the duck. I think we have been dominating this tournament for a while and you’re going to have ups and downs. So I think we have to take our downs and rally and keep fighting. I think every year we try to win the title, it doesn’t happen. But this year is nothing new. I think we have to go out there, try to perform as best as we could and at the end result, yes it is to take home the title but only the man above will know. I think generally we have always been confident, whatever team or whatever squad we have. Yes, it’s a new year, new season, new luck, and obviously we have different personnel coming in the team. So it’s always good to have new blood and new energy, new ideas. So yes, we are confident and hopefully we could go out there and do it.”
TKR will begin their 2025 CPL campaign on August 17th against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
