NCIC Celebrates UNESCO Recognition For Divali

The National Council of Indian Culture (NCIC) is celebrating the inclusion of Divali on UNESCO’s List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

President of the NCIC, Dr. Surujdeo Mangaroo, says it is a moment of immense pride and joy for the community.

In a release, Dr. Mangaroo noted that this recognition honours the universal values of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil that Divali represents.

The National Council of Indian Culture (NCIC) is the producer of Divali Nagar. Through Dr. Mangaroo, it is now reaffirming its commitment to preserving and promoting the rich cultural expressions of Divali, which it notes will ensure that its message of light continues to inspire the world.
