New Board Appointed to Lead Naparima Bowl

The Ministry of Culture and Community Development has appointed a new seven-member Board of Directors for the Naparima Bowl, with Vincent Emmanuel Singh named as Chairman.

The appointments were formally announced at a ceremony held at the Ministry’s Head Office on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, hosted by Minister Michelle Benjamin alongside Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Narindra Roopnarine and Naparima Bowl Chief Executive Officer Keon Francis.

The newly appointed board includes:

  • Vincent Emmanuel Singh – Chairman
  • Abdel Mohammed – Deputy Chairman
  • Patricia Ramgoolam – Member
  • Kurt Valentine – Member
  • Hassim Ali – Member
  • Davanie Persad-Riley – Member
  • Kern Ramdin – Member

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Benjamin emphasized the Board’s crucial role in preserving the cultural legacy of the venue, which has served as a platform for creative expression for over six decades since its establishment in 1962.

“The Naparima Bowl has given voice to the creativity of the South land and beyond for over six decades,” Benjamin stated. “As this new Board takes up its role, we expect dedication and diligence. Together, we must ensure that the Bowl remains a place where culture thrives, talent is nurtured and future generations are inspired to carry forward this legacy.”

The Board has been tasked with four key responsibilities: ensuring sound governance through accountability and transparency; developing programs to support performers and cultural practitioners; maintaining the facility as a safe and welcoming space; and expanding community engagement while serving as both a regional hub and national stage.
